Adhesives are used in the manufacture of cardboard boxes, plywood, furniture, paper bags, pressure-sensitive tapes, and many industries including automotive, printing, manufacturing, etc.
Adhesives - such as cement, glue, mucilage, and paste - are capable of holding materials together by surface attachment. Adhesives are made from many different basic materials, like dextrin, latex, silicones, liquid rubber, resin, sodium silicate, and starch.
Common Adhesive Applications
- Manufacturing and packaging adhesives (e.g. PVAc, polyurethanes, epoxy resins)
- Transfer from onsite blending (e.g. starch kitchen) to application and return
- Metering onto items to be bonded
