In 2018, long time Rogers Machinery Company customer Louisiana-Pacific Corporation announced they were investing $45 million in Entekra, a manufacturing company that provides a Fully Integrated Off-Site Solution to include design, engineer and manufacture off-site framing for residential and commercial construction. Entekra had plans to build a new production facility in Modesto, CA and needed to have an energy efficient and reliable compressed air system for the manufacturing process. Rogers Machinery outside salesman Mike Silva called on Gary McCaughey, Senior VP of Supply Chain of Entekra and began establishing the all-important relationship between customer and vendor. Over the following months, Gary, Mike and Jeff Yarnall, P.E., met to discuss air compressor sizing, dryer technology and other aspects of the system, as well as learn more about the others company. Both companies have a ‘family’ feel to their approach to business. The business relationship was cemented after Gary and Louisiana-Pacific Lead Engineer, Bill Baird, joined Mike Silva on a visit to the Rogers corporate office in Portland, Oregon, the production facility in Centralia, Washington and a site visit to another long-term Rogers' customer. They met with many of the principals of Rogers, experienced firsthand how Rogers builds air compressors and most importantly, heard from satisfied customers. The end result was an energy efficient system consisting of two Rogers KR2V Series 150 HP variable speed driven air compressors, Zeks low pressure drop Mist Eliminator coalescing filter and HeatSink refrigerated air dryer. Rogers Machinery provided a turnkey installation of the equipment using Transair aluminum piping. At the end of the day, anyone can sell compressed air systems based on price or delivery, but Rogers takes a more personal approach to the process. We want our customers to know that they are entering into a partnership with a company that truly values its customers and promises to be there after the sale, providing first class service. Bill Baird commented: “As for the purchase of Rogers equipment, overall it has been a very good experience for us. There were a few bumps on the initial delivery timing and the installation but those have been more than offset by the equipment to date. The compressors seem to be an excellent value for the dollar – they are quiet, attractive units with good features that have run well with no problems to date”. This project is just one of many examples of how Rogers Machinery Company has been taking care of its customers since 1949 and will continue to do so into the future.
