J.M. Huber is one of the largest family-owned companies in the U.S., with $2.2 Billion in annual revenue and diverse products including building materials and chemicals, and smoke suppressants. The Fairmount plant manufactures chemicals and materials for fire retardant applications.
When the J.M. Huber Engineered Materials plant in Fairmount, GA needed service and repairs on its equipment, Rogers Machinery was there to help.
Michael Boller, an Outside Sales Engineer for Rogers Machinery, visited J.M. Huber’s Fairmount, GA location to see if any assistance was needed. As Michael arrived, he met with Demario, the Technical Manager Engineer, who invited him to look at their existing equipment that needed service. Immediately a free Rogers Machinery inspection was offered, along with a detailed report and suggestions on how to improve efficiency within the plant.
The major problem at this facility was that the compressed air system was compromised by wet air, which had been an issue for a few years. They are heavily reliant on compressed air to operate their baghouse equipment which is critical when manufacturing bulk powder. Demario was looking to improve their group of service vendors and connected with Rogers Machinery shortly into his search. He was looking for a vendor that was responsive, reliable, had high aptitude and troubleshooting skills, and was effective at getting the job done the first time - this is what they found from Rogers Machinery.
With the information gathered from the inspections, Rogers Machinery was able to fix issues that were present and provide proper preventative maintenance to the Fairmount plant’s machines. By offering those services, the plant was able to avoid downtime that could lead to a large monetary loss. When going into any business, Rogers Machinery takes pride in focusing on customer satisfaction and safety above all else.
In reference to working with Rogers Machinery, Demario said “Having Rogers Machinery as a service provider has been a pleasant experience. Representatives from Rogers Machinery have been extremely responsive, prompt, and reliable in executing the repair needs for our facility. Compressed air is critical to the function of every single process of our facility, so fixing this area of our utility system was a high priority. It was refreshing to see Rogers Machinery tackling our issues with great urgency.”
Rogers Machinery was able to implement changes to reduce the amount of water throughout their system and impurities by servicing J.M. Huber’s desiccant dryers. This in turn created better airflow for their three air compressors as well as improved product quality. When provided with the proper service and maintenance, J.M. Huber’s plant in Fairmount, GA was able to lower 10 pounds of pressure which yielded an annual savings of $24,000.
