Viking pumps are used throughout the surfactant, detergent, and soap manufacturing process. Viking pumps are able to handle a wide range of viscosities, have no pulsation, and flow rate can be adjusted easily with a variable frequency drive.  Viking Pumps are used in:

  • moving the raw ingredients such as oils and fats from the railcars to the plant.
  • saponification and sulfonation processes to move liquids like fatty acids, sulfonic acid, and glycerine.

blending and final packaging of the finished product.

Soap Pumps

Soaps are a group of cleaning chemicals derived from plant oils or animal fats. Soap is a salt of a fatty acid. It solubilizes dirt and other particles to enable them to be carried away by water. Soaps are generally sensitive to the hardness of the water in which they are used. Hard water reduces the effectiveness of soap in cleaning. Soaps are also used in the production of lubricating greases and thickeners.
